Global warming is a very serious condition that affects all of us world wide. Believe it or not, the act of global warming is responsible for the drastic changes in the Earth's climate that we have experienced in recent years. It has been reported by one source that since the year 1900, the Earth's atmosphere has warmed by 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit. This may not seem like much to you, and to the average person, we would barely even notice a change in temperature that is so minuscule. Unfortunately, what would be considered a slight change to us, is a huge change to the fragile atmosphere. Days that use to be just hot, have now gotten even hotter, and many different areas have experienced the fact that storms have become even stronger, and rainfall and flooding problems have increased. Polar ice caps in the Arctic are melting at an alarming rate, and this is disturbing the habitat of many of the Earth's animals. Scientists have estimated that the Arctic may be completely ice free in the summer time as soon as the year 2050. If something is not done soon, we will find that many of our beloved animal species will not be known at all to our children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. The most important part of all this is to remember is that global warming can be stopped if we are all simply willing to do out part. Each and everyone one of us have to be aware of our actions by "going green" and making sure to limit our burning fossil fuels. Just this simple act alone can make a tremendous difference in the way that atmosphere reacts. It is up to us to make a difference, but will we?
